Abstract

The WIMS9a 4 (and WIMS10a (beta4) 5) reactor-physics computer programs
were used to simulate the burn-up of UO2 fuel in a VVER-440 reactor.
The manner in which WIMS9 (and WIMS10) were used in these simulations is
described.
Predictions of concentrations for actinides up to Cm244 and for selected fission
products were compared with laboratory-measured values.
Reasonable agreement between calculated and measured values was seen for some
isotopes, but also differences were observed for the others. Also, agreement is very poor for
some isotopes in selected samples.
Differences between calculated values by WIMS9 and WIMS10 (with different
library) and WIMS10 – 2D standard model vs. WIMS10 3D model are also shown.
