Joint AER Working Group A on „Improvement, extension and validation of parameterized few-group libraries for VVER-440 and VVER-1000“ and AER Working Group B on „Core design“ twenty sixth meeting was hosted by ŠKODA JS a.s. in Pilsen, Czech Republic, during the period of April 15 to 17, 2019.
In total 15 participants from 9 member organizations took part in the meeting and 12 papers were presented. Objectives of the meeting of WG A are: Issues connected with spectral calculations and few-group libraries preparation, their accuracy and validation. The presentations were devoted to some aspects of transport and diffusion calculations, libraries preparation, and to the benchmarks dealing with VVER-440 and VVER-1000 assembly and pin power distribution.
In the frame of WG A: D. Sprinzl (co-authors V. Krýsl, P. Mikoláš, J. Vimpel and J. Závorka) presented paper “Reference solution of Full-Core VVER-1000 calculation benchmark”, S. Patai-Szabó spoke about “HELIOS Calculations for ‘Full-Core-RK3+’“, M. Horváth (co-authors I. Pós and T. Parkó) discussed “Fullcore VVER 440 RK3+ benchmark with C-PORCA”, Yu. Kalinin (co-author Aleshin S. S.) added presentation “Results of solving ‘Full-core’ benchmarks by PERMAK-A code“, D. Sprinzl (co-authors V. Krýsl, P. Mikoláš and J. Závorka) showed “Solution of Full-Core VVER-440 PK-3+ calculation benchmark by MOBY-DICK” and finally P. Mikoláš supplied presentation “Uncertainties associated with nuclear data when calculating fuel isotope concentrations at burnup”.
During the meeting were also discussed the questions connected with the benchmark solutions and, among others, future activities, which are shortly described at the end of the paper.
